The Reading e-Science Centre is run by a Director, a Technical Director, and two full-time staff members. In addition, there are a number of associated staff members who contribute to ReSC through being involved in e-Science projects and providing valuable expertise.

Keith Haines Keith Haines is Head of Marine Informatics at ESSC as well as Director of the Reading e-Science Centre. He has a background in Dynamical Meteorology and Oceanography and has made major contributions to the field of Marine Data Assimilation. He is on the Executive board of the UK National Centre for Ocean Forecasting (NCOF). His e-Science interests include OGC Services, Geobrowser technology (Google Maps, Google Earth and related tools), and running climate models using compute clusters.

Jon Blower Jon is responsible for the day-to-day running of ReSC and is the first point of contact for any enquiries. He has a research background in physical volcanology and has also worked in industry as a software developer.
Dan Bretherton

Dan Bretherton Dan is ESSC's main IT Supporter, working part time on e-research activities. Dan's IT support role includes responsibility for office workstations, departmental storage, compute and web servers, backups and printing, and part of Dan's e-research role is to be an early adopter of new technologies to improve the provision of these core services. His recent e-research related developments at ESSC include a storage cluster, a compute cluster and the use of server virtualisation. Dan's other e-research interests include cloud computing and grid computing, including the Reading Campus Grid. Dan's background is in gas industry research and development, and he has also spent time working overseas on development projects involving educational IT.
Kevin X. Yang

Kevin Yang Xiaoyu Yang (Kevin X.Yang) has research interest in developing e-Science tools in environmental science to facilitate the collaborative research across domains. Currently he is working on two EU-funded research projects.
Marc Stringer
Email
Marc Stringer Marc is employed on computer intense research projects, particularly jobs that also require knowlege of the Environmental Sciences. His research background is in Meteorology and he has worked as part of an IT team for over a decade.
Guy Griffiths
Email
Guy Griffiths Guy develops e-Science tools related to visualisation and data assimilation of ocean and other environmental science data. He has a research background in theoretical polymer physics, and in software engineering for industry.
